Karen Dockery is currently the VP of HR at Child & Family Services, a role she began in November of 2009 after moving to Newport from New York City.  Prior to joining Child & Family, Karen led the HR function at Council On Accreditation, which was her first HR position in the nonprofit field.  Karen transitioned to nonprofit after spending 10 years at IBM where she held a variety of HR positions within three different countries, the US, Ireland and France.  Although Karen has worked as a generalist over the past several years, her preference lies in quantitative HR work.  This preference likely stems from her educational background which includes an MBA, (with a concentration in HR), from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Economics from Villanova University.  In addition, Karen holds an SPHR certification from the Society of Human Resource Management.
