Deborah
Knapman,
LICSW |
Debbie Knapman has been working
in human services for over twenty years.
She currently is the Director of Professional Training and Consultation
at the Women's Resource
Center of Newport &
Bristol Counties (WRC), an agency that provides services to survivors of
domestic violence. There, Debbie
coordinates a program that provides trainings and consultation to workplaces, psychotherapy
and medical practices, and nursing homes.
Previously, she was the Director of Counseling Services at the WRC. Preceding that, she was an Employee
Assistance Program Counselor for Southcoast Hospitals Group in southeastern Massachusetts. At Southcoast, Debbie provided counseling and
therapy to workers and training and consultation to management and administration. Much of Debbie’s early career was working
with children and families in residential treatment in Boston,
East Freetown, and Swansea, MA,
and in Queens, NY.
Debbie received her undergraduate degree from Boston
College and her Masters in Social Work
from Hunter College.
She has three post-graduate certificates from Boston
University and Simmons College
Schools of Social Work,
specializing in psychological trauma, child therapy, and supervision.
