Introduction To Addictions
This workshop is designed to introduce those currently working in the
behavioral healthcare field a basic introduction to addictions. Areas of focus will be introduction to neurobiology,
substances of abuse and dependence, signs and symptoms of impairment, overdose
and identification of withdrawal syndromes. Participants will be able to identify different types of substances that are addictive: stimulants, sedatives, inhalents, DXM and more. You will also be able to recognize the sign and symptoms of impairment, overdose and withdrawal. Participants will also be able to identify the components of dependance according to DSM. Presented by Sharon Morello, Residential Director, The Providence Center. 3 CEU's will be offered.
