BECOMING VISIBLE:
CHILD ABUSE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND GENDER
IDENTITY
In
this workshop, we will explore the interconnections and interactions between identity
development and reactions to trauma. With an emphasis on learning LGBT- inclusive
concepts and terminology, participants will also explore best practices and develop
skills to provide sensitive and culturally relevant services to lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth. Significant legal, policy and social issues
will also be discussed.
