What We Know About Juvenile and Adult Sex Offenders
In this workshop,
participants will explore the myths and realities of child sexual abuse, and
the psychology of sexual offenders. The variety of ways that children and
adolescents might engage in inappropriate sexual behavior with other children,
and their subsequent treatment needs, will be featured. Of particular interest
will be the grooming skills and cognitive distortions of offenders and the
strategies they use to involve their child victims. Implications for child
safety will be discussed. Presented by Elda Dawber, LICSW
