This Teen Violence
presentation will look at the dynamics of youth violence beginning in early
childhood through adolescence. We will define violence, look at the categories
of violence, and ask and answer the why’s, what’s, and who’s of teen violence
including the role of peers, parents, and educators. Some of the areas of
discussion include but are not limited to:
Bullying, the classic
form of violence
Anger, our most conflicting of emotions
Stereotyping
The role of peers in youth violence
Prevention & intervention strategies
Cyberspace, the new frontier for violence
Tasks of adolescent development and childhood aggression
Conflict management
This will be a continuation of the first workshop. All are welcome to attend, even if you were not able to attend the first workshop.
